After a false start leaving Syracuse on Monday into large seas and wind on the nose, we tried again Wednesday in much more favorable conditions heading east - 267nm. We left Syracuse in the company of a large sailing ship Sea Cloud, and were glad our sails are a little easier to hoist.
From Camille's Journal
Three days ago we started ton sail to Albania, because we are slow sailors this took 3 days (a little joke). Luckily this was a little bit worth while (well ok a lot worth while) first it was calm at night watch. I was allowed three Greek delights and one bag of fonzies. It was really dark and there were lots of stars and also a big boat, Daddy steared us away from it. When I woke up in the morning Mama was still asleep, so I had to be quiet (I wasn't very good at that). For lunch we had soup and I spewed it all up in a bowl.
Feeling a bit green.
Next day Mama made a delicious lunch that I did not regurgitate!
The best part of our trip was seeing so may dolphins and turtles some of which came so close we could have touched them if we were a little bit lower. In fact we nearly ran over a small green turtle but he went between our hulls and he was fine.. phew!
We're an ordinary family of 5 dreaming, planning and now beginning our adventure around the Mediterranean (and further afield), having an awesome time! Look out for our boat and come and say hi.
