It's time for Hector's annual bottom paint and some general TLC. It was a lovely still morning to move around to the boat yard so she could be hauled out.
They certainly pack them in here.
With Hector out we get our chance to try life in a Sicilian apartment. It is great fun, lots of noise and bustle. Girls are just disappointed we don't have a bucket to lower down for deliveries, but do have a balcony washing line!
Time to get on with cleaning and shining...
Today we went on the Sea Eye, a rescue boat. It is a big green steel boat. They find refugees and give them life jackets, water or blankets depending on their needs. The go out in a dingy to give them stuff. They only take people onto their boat in emergencies.
They took us out in the dingy to show us a what it was like in a dinghy or small boat when it is rough. It was fun, but we were glad we didn't go out too far.
All the crew are volunteers, mostly from Germany and Holland, the crew changes every couple of weeks. One of the people from the marina has volunteered and will be on board for 2 weeks. Both the captain and the Doctor this time around are women.
The Sea Eye saved 5,568 people in 2016. I think they are doing a fantastically good job!

We're an ordinary family of 5 dreaming, planning and now beginning our adventure around the Mediterranean (and further afield), having an awesome time! Look out for our boat and come and say hi.
