Kalamata didn't really come thru with the olives, but Sparta did. On a chilly 24 deg day we visited the Olive Museum in Sparta, and loved it, together with the historical setting of Sparta.. Camille felt inspired to write a poem and take a video.
An Ode to Olives
Old, ancient, beautiful and delicious,
history in every bite and step.
Olive, olive, olive, castle, fortress, queen,
the difference matters not.
Each has history of its own.
It's time to make history
high up high in the sky
all around underneath you see the houses and trees.
Sailing from Montenegro to Corfu 30hr sail. We had large seas and over 30 knots of wind for hours on end. Hector preformed brilliantly, as did the crew despite very little sleep and difficult conditions.
Camille wrote a poem..
Hills shall rise and hills shall fall
these hills from the ocean so
A Boat bobbles on the hill so much
a boat without the sight of land at all.
A boat that needn't climb the hills of land
because of the monster hills of the sea.
A boat that reaches its destination soon
and all will be calm.
Back in Corfu town. But not for long because we're off again....
I woke up and went into my parents room, where I got my presents. A lavendar pack (they love herbs in Croatia), a fidget that can light up, a water gun and a mug. The mug has a beautiful tree with the word love on it. The water gun had three bullet holes and the lavendar pack had Mljet written on it.
Today is it going to be 40 degrees -SUPER HOT!!
Soon it will be time to go out to lunch at a pizzeria, then we'll come back for cake. I can't wait!
Our neighbours in the super yacht brought out their Fat Boy Blob - Gees we would have loved a turn! You jumb on the belly from up high and the person on the head goes flying!
Camille created a video about the rubbish we found on our clean up of of the break water in the marina today.
At Every Sunday BBQ there is a French man called Maurice, he always brings pastry's (so good)! And the kids (such as myself) go trailing behind him. I like the cannolies best, second best I like the cream puffs, a layer of pastry filled with cream, the third best is a little tart thing with strawberries and other fruit on top and creamy custard inside. Um umm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here are some different things about France.
Here are a few that we saw.

My name is Camille and I am 8 years old. My family and I are on holiday for a while on a boat in Europe. As we sail around we notice lots of plastic in the sea. We decided to study this. Because we come from New Zealand we have stuck to studying what New Zealand can do. So far we have figured out that New Zealand has done the least about the plastic problem. What are you risking if you do nothing?
.1 New Zealand has always boasted about greenary, not for long if you do nothing about it. Did you know that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the sea than fish!
.2 If the fish eat the plastic and the people eat the fish then you are also risking human health.
.3 Our main source of money is from tourists, but if you have plastic everywhere, then no tourists will come.
These are three good reasons that you should at least put a cost on non reusable plastic bags.
We heard that you are travelling to Europe soon. Most European countries are banning or putting a tax on non reusable plastic bags. Do you think you could talk to the European Prime Ministers about how New Zealand could do the same.

P S. I have added some pictures for you to look at.
We saw a three hundred year old tree, it was 20 metres tall. It was called Stebbing and it had no branches for 15 metres. I stood under it and felt very small.
On Sunday we went to a cocktail making thing at the mall and we had lots of fun! We made cocktails – they were yummy! It was all in Italian, but we figured it out and even got a certificate at the end.
Ice, two different flavours of juice, a cocktail shaker and a straw.
Put a scoop of ice in a cup, get your cocktail maker, pour a little bit of each juice. Shake up and down 10 times. Pour into your glass with the ice. Leave in the freezer for one minute, put in the straw and enjoy!
I am the rain
I am the rain, the pitter patter on your window,
The thing that makes your floor slippery.
I am the storm that stops you from playing that game of football or biking.
You can blame me for the storm.
We're an ordinary family of 5 dreaming, planning and now beginning our adventure around the Mediterranean (and further afield), having an awesome time! Look out for our boat and come and say hi.
