Easter in Licata is a major event, with processions and commemorations happening everyday sometimes several times a day during Holy Week. If ever you needed reminding that Easter is a religious holiday then this is the place to come.
La processione di Gesu flagallato; the procession of the flagallated Jesus held on the Wednesday and Thursday of Esaster week. We went on the Thursday night before Good Friday. The men of the congregation dressed in robes and habit like head coverings, the pins on their labels seem to represent the church they are from.
We somehow how missed the statue that they carry of the kneeling, bleeding Jesus, but it was non the less unlike anything we had seen before.
