We are in Malfatano Bay at the bottom of Sardinia. The water is beautifully clear and turquoise. The wind is howling down from the mouth of the lion in France, we are very glad to be tucked up in a bay. We are stuck here for a week there is very little ashore, just a restaurant and snack bar, but it is a beautiful spot. We can't get an Italian sim card so we have very limited internet and feel a little disconnected from the world.
We met a lovely Italian family here who live on their yacht in the summer and in the Sardinian hills the rest of the year. The grow grapes and make some amazing wine (which we got to try!) and grow olives to make their own olive oil. They also obviously have a great vegetables garden as we got to try some of their aubergines and zucchinis too. They have travelled the world in their yacht and two of their children were born in the south pacific. Very interesting people and hopefully we will see them one day in New Zealand!
We're an ordinary family of 5 dreaming, planning and now beginning our adventure around the Mediterranean (and further afield), having an awesome time! Look out for our boat and come and say hi.
