Today we woke up to millions and millions of mosquitos. I had none on my window but everyone else did. We went out to go and look at ruins. The ruins were built by a guy called Octavian. He built the town after he defeated Cleopatra and another guy. They were really interesting, there were a couple of houses with mosaic floors, all of them had fish that looked like Groper on them. People were spearing and catching the fish, there were also pictures of people hunting animals. I thought it might be the Roman hunting goddess (because Octavian is Roman) Diane. Another mosaic had writing on it in Latin.
On the walk we saw millions of funny looking grasshoppers and every time I stepped one hopped or flew away.
We also went to see the Amphitheatre our second one after Cartagena. Granny did a performance for us on the stage, her famous rapping that she has been practising. It went like this..
“We are in Greece,
We are not chasing geese,
We are not in Nice,
We come in Peace.
I love you all,
Short and tall”
Something like that.
This is the view from our table of Hector, waiting patiently.
Then we went to have lunch at a restaurant, they were going to have a huge celebration, we were not sure what for but it was a public holiday celebrating Mary Mother of God. The squid was really yummy!
We're an ordinary family of 5 dreaming, planning and now beginning our adventure around the Mediterranean (and further afield), having an awesome time! Look out for our boat and come and say hi.
