Slano made us think of Christchurch, a town being rebuilt - but for very different reasons. Slano is being rebuilt after the war of Independence over 20 years ago. The bullet marked walls and the missing rooves sit among the newly rebuilt buildings and life carries on.
Seems incredible that this happened relatively recently, but it is sad that it has taken so long to repair the damage. There a numerous memorials around the town, perhaps to provide another reminder once all has been repaired.
We're an ordinary family of 5 dreaming, planning and now beginning our adventure around the Mediterranean (and further afield), having an awesome time! Look out for our boat and come and say hi.
