From Agrigento we take a short bus ride to the Valley of the Temples, one of the largest Archaeological sites in the world. We only see a small part of the 1300 hectares. We see the remains of three temples and one that is perfectly preserved. Strangely these are Greek Temples in Italy, the history of these buildings is overwhelming. Temple Concordia, the best preserved temple, was converted at one stage into a Christian church, and later converted back. It is magnificent - standing on the hill overlooking Agrigento on one side and the sea on the other.
Camille lies next to a fallen telamon, (which is a male figure used as a column) to show how big it is. Some of the other tourists thought it very amusing!
We're an ordinary family of 5 dreaming, planning and now beginning our adventure around the Mediterranean (and further afield), having an awesome time! Look out for our boat and come and say hi.
